Aug 17 Monday (Brookins, Harrison State Beach )
Spent the whole day in the CG, recovering from my crash. Boys at the playground & beach. Was able to wi-fi at the laundry mat on & off. Mark doing all the laundry. He’s been very good at doing all the dirty work from dishes to setting up camp. He even cooks every now & then.
5ish At Fred Meyer grocery. Made chicken soup with lotsa red potatoes, garlic, broccolli, onions, green beans, seasonings, & a whole organic free range chicken. Kids said it was the best soup ever.
Hunger is the best sauce!
But I agreed it tasted so good with bone-in chicken, the soup hot & nurturing. Ate half of it.
8 In bed early ‘cuz in pain. Had ibuprofen & lotsa wine as pain reliever tranquilizer.

Aug 18 Tues ( Harrison beach)
7ish Restless dreamless sleep. Still achy. Slept on & off all night. Arm socket & neck hurting, but I’m ready to rock & roll again. Ibuprofen & wine will help get me going.
10ish At the beach playing frisbee & enjoying the morning sun.

7isb Woke up to hot Super porridge with granola.
8ish Boys all showered. So clean but for how long?! 5 mins tops!
Zach got lost getting back from bathroom last night . He was bawling when Josiah found him. There were six identical walkways leading to the BR. He went the wrong one.
But all is well & we did a dry run for him, making him go back & forth. He also memorized his campsite #.
9 am : At the beach sipping our coffees. Having it with dark choc & cheese curls, reading our books, while watching the kids make sand castles. Made the kids carry my bag & chair to lounge in. They should be happy in the sand for a couple hours.
11 Time to cook lunch. I love camp cooking. Tricky with the altitude. Takes forever to cook in high elevations. But I love that I never have to do the dishes.
So cook away I do.
12:30 Boys back from the beach. Heard that daddy made Sand castles with them & looked for Sand dollars. Josiah brought some big crab legs he found on tbe beach, saying he would like me to cook ‘em for him.
